Welcome to "The Shed:I/O"

I am truly excited to share "the process" with you. Back in the day you would be "taken to the woodshed" to be reprimanded if you weren't "actin' right" or performing well. Musicians coined the term "I got to get back in the shed" when they realized that they needed to work on elements of their performance to get better. Here in The Shed:I/O I am going to share some thoughts about being an artist, educator, arranger, producer, and mentor. What we put into every aspect of our artistry and creative process will directly effect the output. There will be some elements of playing the trumpet, and some links to examples and pedagogy. There will be some thoughts on preparation for performance, as well as practice techniques. There will be some thoughts on wardrobe/costume preparation. There will be some thoughts on the business of music and ALL that it entails. I think you get the idea, this will be a portal to all the things that go on BEFORE, DURING and AFTER you perform. As I add more content, there will be opportunity for discussion, which I am truly looking forward to.
